The best way to get started is download the Wild Tales Journals app from the Apple Apps Store.

Once you have downladed the app you can login, select your chosen year that you would like us to create your journal for. Once up have selected your year we will begin the upload, selection and curation process.

This requires nothing from you other than to connect your device to Wi-Fi and leave the app open while your photos are uploaded.

This may take a few hours depedning on the size of your photo library for your chosen year so we recommend that you leave you phone to do its thing and enjoy the hours you have got back from not having to create your own journal the old manual way!

Once the selection and upload process has finished you can close the app. We will begin the curation, design and finishing of your journal before posting it out, ready for you and your family to enjoy.

You’ll need at least 600 photos from your chosen year to create a Wild Tales journal. Don’t worry - you don’t need to count them yourself.

Once you select a year, the Wild Tales app will quickly check your photo library to make sure there are enough photos to create your journal. If there aren’t, we’ll let you know before you place your order.

Absolutely. You can create a Wild Tales journal for any previous year. Simply scroll through the years in the Wild Tales app and select the one you’d like to turn into a journal.

Because each Wild Tales journal captures a complete calendar year, a year only becomes available once it has finished. For example, a 2026 journal will be available from 1 January 2027.

We carefully select, organise and arrange the photos that best tell the story of your year, creating a thoughtfully designed journal complete with notes that help capture the stories behind the moments.

You simply tell us which year. We take care of the rest.

Wild Tales is designed to take the work out of creating your family journal, so we don't ask you to review, edit or approve your journal before it goes to print.

Once your photos are uploaded, we take care of the selection, curation and design for you - without the hours of choosing photos, adjusting layouts or trying to make everything perfect.

You tell us which year. We take care of the rest.

Your Wild Tales journal will usually arrive within around three weeks of completing your photo upload.

We create our journals in small batches to ensure each one meets our standards before being carefully packaged and sent to you via tracked delivery.

If there are any unexpected delays, we’ll keep you updated along the way.

Each Wild Tales photojournal is AU$495, plus postage within Australia.

This includes a 244-page, thread-sewn bound journal, carefully produced in small runs with a focus on materials, finish, and longevity. Every book is thoughtfully curated and designed to be something you return to year after year.

If you’d like a second copy of the same journal, additional copies are available for AU$200 - ideal for sharing with family or keeping a copy aside.

Absolutely. You can order additional copies of any Wild Tales journal you've previously created for AU$200 each.

Additional copies make wonderful gifts for grandparents and family, or simply give you another copy to keep at home.

To order, email hello@wildtalesjournals.com and let us know which journal you'd like another copy of. We'll send you a private link to confirm and pay for your order.

Your photos are only kept for as long as we need them to create and support your Wild Tales journal.

Thumbnail images used during our initial selection process are deleted once that process is complete. The photos selected for your journal are securely stored for up to 12 months after your journal is dispatched, after which they are permanently deleted.

We retain a secure copy of your finished, print-ready journal so that you can order additional copies in the future without having to recreate your journal or upload your photos again.

You can ask us to permanently delete your finished journal at any time. Once deleted, we will no longer be able to produce additional copies.

The Wild Tales app is currently available for iPhone and iPad through the Apple App Store.

We know many of you use Android devices, and we're working to bring Wild Tales to Android, as well as developing a desktop version for your computer.

Keep an eye out for updates as we bring Wild Tales to more devices.

If your upload has stopped or isn't progressing, don't worry — your progress is saved and you won't need to start again.

Open the Wild Tales app, find your journal and tap Continue Uploading. Keep the app open on the Uploading your photos page until your upload is complete.

For the best results, make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and plugged into power. Large photo libraries can take several hours to upload, so leaving your phone connected and uploading overnight can work well.
